Latest creations

These are my latest achievements from my sewing class, the pouch I made for my friend Ana to keep her travel documents in, I also made the button at pottery " Gee I'm talented!!" I'm doing another one for her too but smaller. The tote bag is a present for my mum's birthday, shopping, libary bag, I love going, shame its only every fortnight, it seems a long time between classes.

Special time with the cuzzies !!

We had Emo's brother, Charlie, Robyn, & their 3 children, Noa, Wiki & Kaia come over from NZ to stay for a few days before heading to Queensland, it was so good to see them & all the kids had a ball, it went far too quickly, they went into the city for the day,(I was working!!) & did all the touristy stuff, like ferry past the opera house & Harbour bridge to having photos with Aboriginies...

Kenya & I mosaic'ed a paver to act as a stepping stone for my hut, this picture was just as I had finished it, I have put it by the hut now but it is not finished off properly, when I have the look I want, I will put up a new pic...all the pieces on it are things that have been broken by "us" in the house.

Kenya's 9th Birthday

 The celebrations started on Friday night Emo & I took Kenya, Milli & Kenya's school friends, Tamara, Adele & Claire to the movies to see Big Mamma, like father, like son, I made the girls up a little goodie bag of popcorn , Chocolate & drinks, they had a lovely day, then back home for KFC & a sleepover, a great night had by all with no drama's. Pancakes for breakfast on saturday & the girls stayed most of the day,  On sunday Kenya had an early soccer game (football) which they won 10-4 by the way, she is loving it, found something she really enjoys doing, when she got back she opened her presents & later we had a sausage sizzle out the front for a few friends & neighbours she had a great weekend, we all went to bed exhausted...

This is my latest creation from my pottery class, some times I'm brimming with inspiration & other days I just sit there fiddling with the clay just making hearts & buttons but I enjoy it all, there's a good bunch of us there & its very relaxed & its great to sit & have a cuppa & bickies, Carolyn "the teacher" is lovely & doesn't like it constructed & neither do we, so it works...

Sewing Class Result

I have been to my sewing class twice now, its every other saturday so its good that I still have 2 saturdays a month free & Kenya has football games now, some on sat & some on sunday so I wont miss many. I have a class on sat & I am making something for my friends birthday. This is what I made in my first couple of classes........

Lucky Finds

Due to our Tomato Plants being very fruitful with copious amounts of tomatos of various species, I have been either giving them away or having lots of meals with tomatos in or with, Instead of them going to waste I have made my third batch of chutney, everyone I have given it too has loved it especially on steak!! I put chilli's & curry powder in it so it has a bit of a kick...

On the way home from work today I popped into the Salvo's junk shop (as I do about once a week) & the "special" today was fill a bin bag with linen for $10, bargain, I got some real beauties, well pleased I popped in... I love vintage table cloths & got a few in amongst my goodies!

Camping at Colo River

Last weekend we packed up the car, well both cars actually as neither of them are very big!! & off we went to Windsor which is about an hour from door to door, the road got worse & worse as we got closer to the campsite, it wasn't a luxurious site with electricity & a nice shower block, but a rustic one with a real fire & a dodgey toilet block, but thats the way we like it, if your going to camp, no luxuries allowed, my straighteners stayed at home for the weekend!! we met up with 2 other couples & their children, we all had a ball, the weather was gorgeous & the river was warm & shallow with a rope swing perfect for children. PLENTY of yummy food & wine which we managed to keep cold.
